What is a good ATS score? Stop chasing a number without a job
A 92 can look reassuring. It can also answer a different question from the one you meant to ask. First find out what the number is measuring.

Ask what was scored
A checker may evaluate writing, formatting, keywords or relevance to a job description. Those are related but different questions. A general resume review does not establish your fit for a specific role.
Look for the inputs and explanation next to the result. If you supplied only a title, the tool has less role-specific context than it would with the complete responsibilities and requirements.
Do not compare unlike scales
Different products define their own criteria and thresholds. A score from one product should not be treated as interchangeable with a score from another, or as a percentage chance of being hired.
Even within one product, changing the target job changes the question. Keep the same job context and document version if you want to understand what a particular revision changed.
Before
My score is high, so I must qualify for this job.
Clearer
The report looks strong on writing, but I still need to check the role’s mandatory requirements.
Example wording to adapt to your own situation, not a claim or result to copy.
Prioritize a real problem over a small score gain
A missing contact detail, unsupported claim or misunderstood requirement deserves attention even when the score looks healthy. Read the explanation behind strengths, gaps and recommendations.
A two-point increase does not automatically make a rewrite worthwhile. Compare the actual wording, accuracy and retained information before deciding which version to send.
Use a review checklist you can defend
Read the resume as the employer for this role: can you find relevant evidence, understand the timeline and identify what the person contributed? Then check file readability and the requested submission format.
LaunchHire presents multiple analysis dimensions so you can investigate findings rather than treating one number as the whole answer. You still decide what is correct and appropriate to change.
